Guided bone and tissue regeneration is usually indicated in case of receding gum line which may be caused due to periodontal disease, poor oral hygiene, aggressive tooth brushing, use of tobacco products, or crooked teeth.
Guided Bone and Tissue Regeneration Procedure
During the procedure, a soft tissue flap may be raised and the harmful bacteria as well as other necrotic material is removed. A tissue graft or a membrane containing regenerative material will then be placed to stimulate bone and tissue regeneration. Following this, the soft tissue flap is closed with sutures.
